Training ending with Control Burn - Rt. 610 and Old Ocean City Rd.
Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Berlin Fire Department held a drill to train firefighters on topics including Hose advancement, RIT (Rapid Intervention Teams, and techniques to enter a structure and extinguish a fire quickly with minimal damage to other parts of the home. Berlin was very courteous and invited all neighboring departments to attend including Showell, Willards, Powellville, and members from several other departments. Several very talented firemen volunteered to pass their knowledge onto other firefighters and give them many useful tips that may come useful on future calls. After some training within the structure, Firefighters were welcomed into the homeowners garage to enjoy some great food they kindly served. The house was then control burned with the supervision of Berlin Fire Department. Thank you Berlin for allowing us to attend such a great drill and many thanks to the homeowner for the great food!
