Assist Ocean Pines with Brush Fire - 28 Block of Carnegie Place- In the Woods

At appriximately 1737 hours, Ocean Pines was alerted for a Smoke Inestigation in the 28 Block of Carnegie Place. The caller advised that heavy smoke was visible from the roadway. Command 11 responded to scene and confirmed heavy smoke and fire behind the Ocean Pines Shopping Center. After investigation, Command requested an additional 2 engines as well as one Brush Truck. Engine 803 from Showell and Engine 604 responded to the scene with the Brush Truck being cancelled. Upon arrival of units, heavy fire and smoke were in the area and crews began extinguishment. Several trees needed to be cut down due to fire in the upper parts of the trees. 2 handlines with foresry hose attachments were placed in service and used to extinguish the flames with the assistance of several rakes and shovels. After the fire was deemed out, the call was handed over to FM2 and units cleared the scene. Units on scene, Ocean Pines Units Rescue 11, Engine 1102, and Utility 1180; Showell Engine 803; Berlin Engine 604; and Worcester County Fire Marshall 2.
